What makes an At-Home Senior care franchise a good investment?

The senior care industry is thriving. 10,000 baby boomers will turn 65 each day over the next 15 years, fueling the aging population and creating high-demand for franchises like HomeWell. We’re already seeing 40% of adults ages 65+ need assistance with daily living activities. This leads to an estimated $522 billion a year spent by family and friends to provide informal care for aging Americans. Additionally, home care offers a much lower barrier to entry than other industries, and a much higher return on a single unit.

Why HomeWell? Compared to other Senior Care concepts, what makes this brand Unique?

HomeWell believes people come first. Our caregivers are carefully chosen and trained to ensure we’re delivering a culture of compassion to all our clients. We approach home care holistically through Care Management – no matter the level of type of service we are providing, every client receives a Care Manager at no additional charge. Our Care Managers oversee the overall care of our clients and ensure our Caregivers are in place and delivering service beyond our client’s expectations. At HomeWell, we strive to identify our client’s wants and needs, and works to connect-the-dots by bridging the gap between family, healthcare and community providers.

What does it take to be a successful HomeWell Franchisee?

Our successful franchisees have been from a variety of backgrounds; however, we believe there are certain skills that prove to be beneficial when running a HomeWell agency. We find our most successful owners have business management experience, resiliency and a focus on execution. It’s also interesting to note that some of our most successful owners have no previous health care experience. We believe if they possess the right skills for business ownership, we can teach them the industry.

Is there any particular background or skill set that you look for in potential franchise candidates?

We look for potential owners who are self-starters, have a passion for business ownership, who understand sales and its importance in driving success, who are willing to follow a proven system and have a commitment to succeed. Backed by more than 100 years of healthcare experience, HomeWell provides each franchise owner with a wealth of home care knowledge. Our healthcare professionals educate our owners on the industry and how to partner with the healthcare community to increase referrals and drive profitability.

Do I need prior experience in health care in order to own a HomeWell Franchise?

Absolutely not. This is what makes joining the HomeWell family so special. Our franchise support team is in place to help guide and teach our owners the ins and outs of home care. Coupled with an owner’s business management experience, resiliency and openness to learn, this education leads to great success.

How long does it take for someone to get their location up and running after signing a franchise agreement?

HomeWell is committed to providing our franchise owners with the tools and information needed to succeed from the start. During the initial months, our owners receive dedicated support from the Opening Services, Training, and Support teams. These teams guide our owners through important tasks needed to establish their business, gain industry knowledge, and prepare for a successful business opening. Our goal is to not only help our owners set expectations and begin navigating the journey into new business ownership, but to launch quickly and effectively with decreased days to the dollar. Our pre-opening support is divided into three key phases:

1. Pre-Training: Support with completing the tasks necessary to start a HomeWell franchise and receiving foundational home care and industry training.

2. Core Training: Five days of onsite comprehensive training that includes topics such as: the Franchisor/Franchisee relationship, an industry overview, HomeWell differentiators, navigating the health care maze, business ownership, management and organizational structure, talent management, care management, and sales and marketing.

3. Post-Training: Focus on getting our owners ready for launch.

Throughout the Pre- and Post-Training programs, our owners receive individual weekly support calls, group webinars and online training modules that educate on key topics relevant to running a home care agency.
